Classroom Awards

After our AWARD'S CEREMONY in the theater, we had our own little "AWARD'S" in our classroom. I gave each child a piece of candy that describes him/her. The children had a great time trying to guess which candy described who? Emma: The student who always gives EXTRA in everything she does.

Award's Day!

Today was Award's Day for our third graders! The children were anxious to hear their names called out.

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a full holiday weekend. David and I ran the Cotton Row Run 10K on Monday morning in Huntsville. It was hard and hot, but lots of fun! My brother ran the whole thing with me! He ran this course 20 years ago when he was on the Cross Country Team at Decatur High School!

We finished in 52:26. Last year, I completed this course in 54:04. My goal was 51 minutes, but I did the best I could!

Mr. David completed the course in 43:30. This is a personal record for him!!

After the race, we headed to my mother's to celebrate Memorial Day! We swam, ate, ate, ate, and ate some more!

On Saturday morning, we headed out to Point Mallard bright and early, but the balloons did not go off! However, the boys had the opportunity to help deflate and pack up the Cook's Pest Control balloon.

This is them deflating the balloon. A picture like this even made the Decatur Daily on Saturday morning.

It was a fun-filled weekend! I hope you had a wonerful one, too!

Update on Patton

On Memorial Day, Patton was determined to get in his Nana's pool with his cousins. We wrapped his cast up in a trash bag and told him to go for it!

Over the weekend, his daddy worked very hard on making Patton's cast a MASTERPIECE! His doctor was pretty impressed today when he went to get it checked out!

He was sad that the doctor did not take it off today. He has to wear it at least 10 more days. We hope it comes off because we leave for the beach in 11 days!!!!

Third Grade Has Talent!!

Last Friday, we let those you wanted get on stage and perform. We did this because we knew we could never pick just 2 acts out of 96 children for the schoolwide talent show. They did a fabulous job! We had the "Cha-Cha Slide".
We had a violin!

We had Karate!

It was awesome! We have some talented children in third grade!!!

A TRIP TO THE ZOO

MOTHER'S DAY

I hope everyone had a wonderful MOTHER'S DAY last Sunday! We had a great day hanging out together.

STEEPLE CHASE 8K

Last Saturday, David and I put on an 5 mile race at our church to raise money for the NCC, The Neighborhood Christian Center. Through sponsorships and entry fees, we raised around $3,500.00. It was a huge success!

20 minutes before the race started, Patton fell off the monkey bars on our church playground. Thank goodness, Dr. Stacy Tapscott was there to volunteer! Since David and I were about to start a race, we could not leave! Sweet Dr. Tapscott threw Patton in his car and drove him to the emergency room. He brought patton back with his arm in a cast and sling and some xrays of a broken wrist! It was total CHAOS!!!

My sister-in-law finished her first race today! This was her debut run!!

Here I am cheering on our first runner to cross the finish line! Jason Reneau of Huntsville was our overall male finisher. He ran it in 27 minutes and 43 seconds!! Yes, that is unbelievable!
