Video from Saturday

Look closely you will see Mrs. Coon and her buddies

whiz by the camera.

Today we had to stay inside for break because of the rain! During break today, the children enjoyed reading the "Kid Scoop" in the Decatur Daily Newspaper.
They read, worked puzzles, and enjoyed their snacks.
They were really interested in the fun activities.

Watch out Disney! Here WE come!

The Coon family is busy packing because in 3 short days
we will be boarding a plane that will take us to... this MAGICAL PLACE!

Monday in Third Grade

I finally got the Timelines displayed in the hallway.
The students at JHES are enjoying them.
We finished reading this week's story "Make Way For Ducklings" today. It is a fun story.
We discussed what makes this story a fantasy. Ask your child to tell you the characteristics of a fantasy.
This week's vocabulary words seem to be really easy for the class this week. They are doing really well with them.

A PRAISE!

Daddy got his results back from Wednesday's tests. There is no trace of cancer anywhere else in his body! YIPEE! It is only in that one spot in his mouth. We are very excited about the results. Surgery will remain on October 30 in Birmingham at St. Vincent's Hospital.

Thanks for all the prayers. Prayer works!!!!

Update on Daddy

My father had a test this morning in Huntsville. It was some kind of dye test. We will not know the results until Friday or Monday. They have finally set the surgery date for October 30, but could change if today's test shows anything. Dad is a little upset with it being so far away, but the doctors had to coordinate so many people and reserve the operating room for 6 hours. He said that this week has been the longest week of his life just waiting, and now he has to wait until October 30. With this being said, I will not be at school on October 30 or October 31. Sorry I am having to miss so much. I feel bad because I am missing two days next week because my family is going to Disney World on Thursday for Fall Break. We need this trip!!!!!! Anyway, daddy and a group of friends left today after his test for a weekend of GOLF! Mother insisted that daddy go! Once he gets there, we know he will be glad he went.

I thank you for all the prayers. Pray for the test results and patience.
