This Week's Story

Please encourage your child to reread "Rugby & Rosie" tonight. We will have a reading test tomorrow. Please note we will do it together so the children can learn the format. The children will also take a vocabulary test. Both of these tests will not be graded, but a participation grade will be recorded.





We worked on identifying cause and effect relationships today. The boys and girls were great participants.

Getting Know Each Other

We used M&M's to help us learn about each other. Each child got a handful of M&M's. For each color, they had to tell me a certain fact. For example, if they got 3 oranges, they had to tell me 3 places they like to visit.














They were all eager to share because as soon as they did, they got to eat their M&M's!!

3rd Day in 3rd Grade

We survived 3 days of third grade! To celebrate, we completed a packet full of activities with the number 3!

Getting to know each other

Each child had to write 3 facts about themselves.


The students took then turns reading their facts about themselves to the class.


However, one fact was suppose to be false, but believable!


The class tried to figure out the fact that was false.


This was their only opportunity to tell a little white lie in my classroom. Ha!

Decorating Wallets

The students decorated their wallets. They will use these each Monday as they visit the 3rd grade bank and store.

We spent a good amount of time setting up our "DOGS" book today. The children did a great job putting it together.

Miss Bowling! Oops, Mrs. Upton

Smith went last Thursday night to give his sweet teacher a hug at Leon Sheffield Elementary. Mrs. Upton got married this summer, but to Smith she will always be Miss Bowling! He wore is "bowling" pin shirt just for her!


I have no doubt that Smitty is going to love 4th Grade!

Middle School, REALLY?

Tomorrow will be bitter sweet because my sweet Patton starts middle school. Where does the time go?


We went Friday afternoon to walk through his schedule and pack his locker. He did great, and he cannot wait until tomorrow!


Do I look old enough to have a child going into middle school? I am feeling really old.

Thank you all for being such prayer warriors for my daddy as he battled head and neck cancer for the past 3 years. He fought hard, but his Heavenly Father called him Home on August 7, 2011. Daddy is now healed and cancer-free! He was "In it to WIN it," and his mission was definitely accomplished!


We will miss our precious Papa, but we know he is still with us each and everyday. His LEGACY lives on!!!

Fundraising Garage Sale

Some of my dearest friends hosted a garage to raise money for my sweet daddy.


Friends and family donated items for the sale.


It was very successful! We so appreciate all the work by others to make this garage sale happen.


Daddy has been unable to work, and he is self employed. Therefore the medical bills continue to come in, but there is no income coming in.


We want him to focus on getting better, not the bills. Thanks to all who helped!!!
