Grand Opening

Ruff and Stuff was open for business last Friday! They had a wonderful time cashing their "good behavior" checks at Central Bark Bank before going shopping!!!

Assessments

We have spent some time this week doing assessments to help Mrs. Coon know what she needs to focus on this year in 2nd grade.

The boys and girls are taking a math assessment.

How Many Letters Are in our Names?

Today, we read Chrysanthemum!  We talked about Chrysanthemum's name having 13 letters.  We wanted to know how many letters our names had.

We discovered that AdriAnna had the most letters in her name.  Most of the names in our class had  4 or 5 letters in them.  The boys' names totalled 48 letters, and the girls' names totalled 50.  We have 98 letters in all in our classroom.

Writer's Notebook

Working on our Writer's Notebooks was the highlight of our day!  They enjoyed this time so much!!!

Happy Birthday

Today was Kevin's birthday! His mother and baby brother brought us a yummy snack to help him celebrate!!!

Busy with Bellwork

Every morning the children will come in and complete their DOL and Math 4 Today!


They are doing a great job learning their morning routine.


We will have our first DOL quiz and Math 4 Today quiz this Friday! It will not count, because I just want to get them acquainted with these two tests.

Enjoyed Meeting My Class

I enjoyed getting to meet my new class last Thursday evening at Benjamin Davis Elementary.  I had everything ready for them:  directions for putting up school supplies, a parent folder with lots of important information, sign-up sheets for volunteering, and a goodie bag for my new students. 

 

We are ready for MONDAY!!

Getting ready for 2nd Grade Orientation tomorrow night!   It is finally all coming together.

Letters have been MAILED!   I look forward to meeting  18 second graders tomorrow night at 5:00 at 

Benjamin Davis.
