Award's Day

Julian Harris third graders were recognized for their achievements during an Award's Ceremony. Here Cole is receiving "The Student of the Month" award for MOST IMPROVED! Cole also got recognized for serving as our class representative this year.

Wesley and Ryan are being recognized for participating in this year's spelling bee. They were our class winners.

Trevor and Molly both were on this year's DI Team!

I did my own little awards in my classroom before the BIG ceremony. Here are my 3 Musketeers: Katie, Baylee, and Justin!

Ryan got the ZERO award for being a MATH WIZ!

Jamey got the SWEET TART award for being sweet and sassy!

Cole got the MR. GOODBAR award for always being a good friend to all!

Shakyra was proud of her award, the MILKY WAY award. She is our class daydreamer!

Bradley got the Butterfinger Award because he always seems to misplace and/or lose things. He was not very happy with me for giving him this award. I had to do a lot of apologizing.

Brylee got the Lifesaver Award because she is always there to help ME and her classmates!

Molly got the GUMMY BEAR Award because she is like your favorite teddy bear, someone you like to have around at all times!

Field Day

The boys and girls were excited to get things started at the opening ceremonies for FIELD DAY! They watched and listened carefully to the announcements, awards, and music!

The boys and girls were GREAT during field day. They had a wonderful time!

Country Music Marathon

David and I went to Nashville for the Country Music Marathon during spring break! We had to watch the weather the whole time! There were tornado warnings all around us!

Me at mile 20! I felt great! I was ready to run a 4:00 hour marathon!!!

Sadly, at mile 21 they made me head to the finish line because the weather was getting bad. I only got to complete 22.5 miles. I was really bums!

Delano Mile Run

Patton and Smith's schools put on a big event for the mile run. David and I had the honor of helping with it this year! Here is the start and finish line.
David and I had the River City Runners come and time the race just like a professional one!

Oops, I did not get any pictures of Patton's class during the run! Patton did awesome, too. He finished fourth!

Human Body: Our Opposable Thumb

We taped our thumbs and tried to do several activities without them! It was a lot harder than they thought it would be!

Sadie was laughing as she was taping up her thumb! They had a blast with this activity!

Megan's Wedding

We took the boys to their first wedding a couple a weeks ago! It was my dear friend and running buddy, Megan! Megan and Bobby are finally husband and wife!!

Here we are: Barbara, Betsy, Jackie, Megan, Paige, Me, and Tracy.

Smith had the honor of dancing with the BRIDE!

We were so excited to get the see the bride before Bobby even got to!!

Human Body Unit

Last week, we began our final unit in Science, Human Body! I introduced the unit with the children watching each other jump rope.
As they were jumping, the children recorded what body parts moved.

As a class, we defined the following vocabulary words. We will keep an ongoing word bank throughout this unit.

Then, as a class, we worked hard on trying to figure out how many bones are in our bodies.

They worked really hard to count the bones in each section of the body.

We finally came to conclusion (with a lot of debating) that our bodies have 206 bones.

Next, the children tried to put Mr. Bones together without any guidance from me.

I was quite impress on how well they actually did on this.

Here is Mr. Bones! There were only a few minor mistakes.

Yes, quite disgusting I might say, but the children loved it!

Molly is not too sure about this whole experiment. However, it did not take her long to finally dig in!

Tomorrow he meets with his chemo doctor so hopefully he will begin treatments this week! YOU CAN DO IT PAPA!!!!
