Thanksgiving breakFEAST

We had a wonderful morning celebrating Thanksgiving.

We enjoyed a yummy breakFEAST! We had casseroles, sausage balls, sweet rolls, biscuits, bacon, and much more!

Thank you for all the help, Parents!!! Also, I appreciate all the sweet birthday wishes!

Movie Time

We spent the afternoon watching the movie "Skylark." I read this book aloud to the class this week!

Telling Time

We used clocks to help us figure out time to the 1/2 hour, 1/4 hour, and minute.

We are still working on elasped time. This is a hard skill for third graders.

WE ARE LOSING IN THE CAN DRIVE!! Send in those cans!!!!
We are collecting items for The Hope Chest!
Our breakFEAST is on Friday! We need volunteers to bring in casseroles, breakfast pizzas, and plain biscuits!

Thank You!

I sent home a little "thank you" note in your child's BEE book today! It is just a few things I am thankful for this Thanksgiving!

This Week!

We started reading the sequel to Sarah, Plain and Tall today. I am reading it aloud to them. Hopefully, we will be done by Friday so we can watch the movie. In Workshop, we are working on some Thanksgiving things: The First Thanksgiving, Gobbling Up Punctuation, What's on the Menu, and more! Ask your child what he/she did today?

We worked on the some more capital letters today in cursive! My plan is to be done with all the capital letters by Christmas!

BIG SCIENCE TEST ON TUESDAY

I hope you have been studying for next week's science test on Chapter 11! Today they worked on filling out their study guides to help them. Do you know what these words mean? If not, you better study them!
I am encouraging you to study boys and girls!! WARNING: It will be hard test to get through if you do not!
Their SCIENCE BOOKS and STUDY GUIDES were suppose to come home this weekend!

Patton's Explorer Project

During the past two weeks at our house, we have been researching Lewis and Clark. Today, Patton went to school like this to share all of his information he has learned about his explorers. He drew a map to label their expedition.
He wore clothes that they probably wore back then.

He was so excited!

Calculator Fun!

This week, we learned how to use a calculator to solve our math problems.
They just do not understand why we cannot use them all the time during math! Hee-Hee!

The Coon Family's Halloween

The Coon Family loves Halloween! This the pumpkin Mr. David and Patton carved on Saturday. Patton spent all week drawing up ideas, and this is what they finally came up with!
My inlaws let the boys go way out on decorating for Halloween night. This is their graveyard they made.

Here they are decorating the front porch! They made several trips to the Halloween Store, Walgreens, and Big Lots this year.

This is Patton.

This is Smith!

Our Halloween Party

We had a wonderful time celebrating Halloween! Kade's mom, Mrs. Mayer, came and did a craft with the children. Isn't this banner adorable!

Thanks to all the parents that sent in treats and goody bags!

Mr. Thomas read a book about a witch to all of us and then made us some yummy witches brew!!!

I think us grown-ups liked it better than the kids! It was delicious!

It was a fun day!!!!

The Heat Test

Last Wednesday, we put each one of our 5 powders over a flame to see what happens when they were heated. The children took notes while we held them over a candle.

On Thursday, the children used their notes from the week to identify their 5 unknown powders. Ask them what they discovered!
