It Pays To Be Good In Third Grade!
We have our own classroom economy in third grade! They are learning so much about money!
The BEST part is that they are having fun while they are doing it!
That's my goal: Making Learning Fun!
BIG Question: Do I spend or do I save?
The children participated in their first visit to the third grade bank and store this past Friday.
During each week, the children earn credits for good behavior and debits for bad behavior. On Fridays, we tally up our credit and debits (like a checkbook register). Then, they write themselves checks for the amount of money they have earned for the week.
First, the children took their checks and cashed them at the bank. Then, they took their money to the store. Lastly, after they made their purchases, they placed their change in their wallets for safe-keeping. Hopefully they will get to add money to that change next week!
THANKS to all the parents who came and helped with the GRAND OPENING of the bank and store! It ran so smoothly thanks to you! Also, thanks for all the moms, dads, and grandparents who sent items in for the store! We had and still have a fabulous selection of items! YOU ARE THE BEST!
