Timelines

Wow! I was very impressed with this year's timelines. The students did an excellent job. They had a wonderful time sharing them with their classmates.

Continents and Oceans

On Friday, as a grade level we listened to this wonderful book on tape.


Stosh and Luke held up copies of the book so everyone could see the pictures while they listened to the story.


The boys and girls laughed a lot while they listened carefully.


After the story, we made our own Chester the pig.


They had to place the continents on his body and label the oceans.


Most of them tried to do this without picking in their books or DOG books for answers.





They worked really hard. They are hanging up in the hall. Come check them out!!!

Congratulations to my Smitty

Smith was elected for JLT (Junior Leadership Team, formally known as Student Council) last Friday.


He went with a "Jackson Five" theme and sang his speech to the tune of "ABC, 123.".

Comprehension Toolkit

We have enjoyed this week learning lots of NEW information from interesting non-fiction texts.


We learned about coral reefs, sharks, and dolphins all this week.


As we were reading we paid close attention to non-fiction features.


We listened for our inner voice to signal new learning: Wow! Amazing! Really? I didn't know that.......


They worked in pairs to discuss the text.











I enjoyed listening to their conversations.
